Welcome!

One of my favorite moments of the day is when I get to welcome each student in the morning. We share a smile and an enthusiastic “Good morning!” and I join in their happiness as they start their day at Gwynedd Friends School.

Our teachers are the heart of our school. They create a rich learning environment designed to meet children where they are, that is full of open-ended, as well as guided experiences. Based on our strong Quaker foundation, we recognize the Light in each child, just as we help students learn how to be valuable contributors to a vibrant community.

Gwynedd Friends School has such wonderful spaces to explore! We have two large natural playgrounds, a nature trail, and a big field. As I walk around campus, I see children busy learning about the native plants in our pollinators’ garden, making new creations in our sand kitchen, and riding bikes with friends on our blacktop. As I walk through our classrooms, I see children expressing their creativity in art projects, listening with rapt attention to books, making fanciful block creations, and throwing themselves with enthusiasm into dancing with their teachers and classmates. As they progress through their years at GFS, our students come to see themselves as artists, writers, readers, mathematicians, and scientists.

Just as I do each morning with the children, I warmly welcome you to the Gwynedd Friends School community. I hope you will come visit and see for yourself what a wonderful place this is!
